Every student learns at their own pace and in their own way. Through years of experience, I have developed many personalized lesson plans to help every student achieve their musical goals. Be it just to have fun playing an instrument with their friends, or to prepare for a long career in trumpet performance.
During every students first lesson, we will make our way through some of the basic aspects of trumpet playing. From posture and breathing, to tone production and articulation. In addition, this is a great time to understand what else the student may be interested in outside of a musical setting. This is another tool I love to use to help tailor the learning experience to each individual and can help me to understand better how the student learns.
A trumpet with a mouthpiece. It's as easy as that. Some basic trumpet method books will be required for all students to purchase at various points during their learning journey. The first few lessons will determine which method books would be best and recommendations will be made through out our private lessons.
Here is a list of a few standard books that will be used during lessons. It is not a requirement for the student to have any of these books to start taking lessons. Materials can be provided for the first few lessons.
I am currently accepting students in grades 5-12 as well as adult learners.
Because I am only able to offer in-home lessons, I am only accepting students within a 30 minute drive from the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor Michigan area. Some reasonable exceptions can be made. Please contact me directly through the form below to inquire.
Currently I am providing 1 hour in-home lessons at a rate of $50.00.
I strongly recommend, especially for younger students, a weekly lesson schedule. I understand sometimes a weekly lesson may not fit into everyone's schedule and can accommodate bi-weekly lessons as well.
